Cabinet reshuffle in Kenya as 2 get the sack

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has fired two ministers from his cabinet during his State of the Nation Address in the coastal city of Mombasa. Some of the ministers moved to other positions include Rachel Omamo(Previously  in the defense docket )who has been moved to the ministry of foreign affairs, Sicily Kariuki(health )to the water ministry, Peter Munya to agriculture, Monica Juma(foreign Affairs )to defence and confirmed Ukur Yattani as the National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, among others.

Increased terror attacks in the region have prompted leaders from North Eastern Kenya to take action. Political leaders from Northern Kenya have convened in Garissa town on Monday 20th January 2020 to address the increasing cross border attacks by Al-Shabaab.  National assembly majority leader Adan Duale reiterated that the government needs to send Special Forces to those areas which are prone to attacks by the Somalia based terror group. Mr Duale added that those communities affected by the Alshabaab menace in Northern and coastal kenya must unite and join efforts in “the fight against the enemy”.
