Somalia government puts bounty on the heads of suspected Alshabaab members

Mogadishu: The federal republic of Somalia is offering financial award for information leading to the arrest of 5 suspected terrorists. 
Four of the men have already been sentenced to death in absentia for terror offences. The other, a man named as Abdinasir Ahmed Abdulkadir, is also sentenced to life in absentia for terror offences. 
The amount of the reward has not been disclosed.

Increased terror attacks in the region have prompted leaders from North Eastern Kenya to take action. Political leaders from Northern Kenya have convened in Garissa town on Monday 20th January 2020 to address the increasing cross border attacks by Al-Shabaab.  National assembly majority leader Adan Duale reiterated that the government needs to send Special Forces to those areas which are prone to attacks by the Somalia based terror group. Mr Duale added that those communities affected by the Alshabaab menace in Northern and coastal kenya must unite and join efforts in “the fight against the enemy”. Garissa senator and veteran politician Yussuf Haji said the idea of a section of Kenyans thinking ordinary Somalis give support to Alshabaab is unthinkable adding that even though some locals have joined the terror group, most are foreigners from neighboring Somalia, other parts of Kenya and even the larger East Africa.
