Tens of thousands were evacuated and tremors were felt in nearby villages amid an eruption of the country’s second-most-active volcano, the Taal, about 40 miles from Manila.

Increased terror attacks in the region have prompted leaders from North Eastern Kenya to take action. Political leaders from Northern Kenya have convened in Garissa town on Monday 20th January 2020 to address the increasing cross border attacks by Al-Shabaab.  National assembly majority leader Adan Duale reiterated that the government needs to send Special Forces to those areas which are prone to attacks by the Somalia based terror group. Mr Duale added that those communities affected by the Alshabaab menace in Northern and coastal kenya must unite and join efforts in “the fight against the enemy”.
